House Conversions

If you are converting a house into flats you will need to comply with stringent sound insulation requirements. All dwellings for residential use must meet the requirements of Approved Document E of building regulations.

This states that the separating floor (floor between two separate dwellings) must achieve a sound insulation figure of at least 43dB for airborne sound and 64dB for impact sound.
