Just under 12,000m2 of our C40 cradle & batten flooring system is being installed in residential units at Saffron Square, a major new mixed use development in Croydon by Berkeley Homes.
Part of the Croydon Vision 2020 regeneration programme, this landmark development will incorporate a 45 storey tower and a landscaped public square flanked by cafes, bars and shops. Above the ground and part first floor commercial units will be 755 residential studios and apartments, of varying size, in six different blocks.
Berkeley Homes specified our C40 raised acoustic flooring for use throughout the residential units. The contract was won in open tender based on price and quality and also because C40 flooring, which exceeded the acoustic requirements of Building Regulations Document E, is ideal for use with underfloor heating, which is being installed throughout.
Some flooring installation is being done by Berkeley Homes, following training from InstaCoustic, with the rest undertaken by InstaCoustic’s own supply and fix teams, recognised for their high standards of work, excellent health & safety record and their interaction and co-ordination with other on-site trades.
Once completed, in 2015, Saffron Square in west Croydon will be an iconic development with its coloured tower visible from miles around.
