The efficient installation of InstaCoustic’s cradle and batten flooring throughout all areas of a test flat, successfully completed in just one day, resulted in our acoustic flooring being specified for a further 32 flats at Southfield Lodge, a 1970’s complex in Acton, West London.
Owned by the London Borough of Ealing, the initial installation in only one flat at this three storey block was to demonstrate that the minimum height of the floor system (72mm) was viable and still met the acoustic requirements of Approved Document E.
The adjustable C30 system was then fitted in its one and two bedroom flats as part of a complete refurbishment and upgrade of this courtyard block. Installation of the flooring was undertaken by the main contractor, Niblock, following training from InstaCoustic.
The C30 flooring was specified as it provided various benefits:
- A proven and reliable product with rapid, easy installation to a high quality finish.
- Height adjustable on site and laser-levelled to provide a completely even floor surface.
- Excellent acoustic performance exceeding the requirements of Building Regulations.
